Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst I

The Energy Cost of Service & Natural Gas (ECOS) Branch within the Public Advocates Office is seeking a Public Utilities Regulatory Analyst I to join its Natural Gas team.

Under the supervision of the Program and Project Supervisor of the Natural Gas Section, the incumbent is responsible for representing ratepayer interests on issues pertaining to the appropriate revenue requirement and rates associated with CPUC-regulated gas and electric utilities in General Rate Cases, and other rate setting cases. These cases encompass all aspects of cost of service, such as determining the appropriate levels of various operating expenses and capital expenditures (rate base, or infrastructure investment) to be recovered through gas and electric rates. The incumbent will conduct research, write reports, testify in CPUC proceedings, coordinate with project teams, and advise management on related matters.

Working Conditions

This position requires travel.
