The Internship Program - May 2024 Start Date

The Global Information Technology (GIT) Cybersecurity Immersion Internship allows participants to directly contribute to the direction of Whirlpool Information Technology through the practical application of new and leading technologies for strategic market advantage. During this 10-12 week internship experience, you will own a project and receive mentoring from GIT leadership while driving impactful results.

Upon successful completion of the summer internship immersion, you may be considered for full-time employment opportunities within GIT’s Cybersecurity function.

Program locations

Work out of our corporate campus in Southwest Michigan at either our Global or North American Headquarters. Take advantage of pristine beaches, a thriving art scene, and lush countryside in our location along the coast of Lake Michigan.  Learn more about our locations here.

Whirlpool provides complimentary housing at Lake Michigan College for interns who live 50 miles or more from Benton Harbor, MI.

 

Your day-to-day

Project assignments could be in areas such as:

  • Information Security
  • Cybersecurity
  • Cloud Security

 

Minimum requirements

  • Progress towards Bachelors degree with a concentration in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or Information Technology with an anticipated completion date in 2025
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8/4.0
  • Must have indefinite US work authorization. Applicants who require visa sponsorship or work authorization now or in the future are not eligible for this program

Preferred skills and experiences

  • Demonstrated passion for technology
  • Interest or certifications in: Security, Information Assurance, Analytics, Software Engineering, Integration / Network, Architecture - Cloud & Infrastructure
