 or QMC-EMI Summer Engineering Internship Program

Scope:

  • The internship will provide engineering students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically in the areas of sheet metal stamping and assembly.
  • Students will work on projects that are relevant to the company's current needs.
  • Students will have the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with experienced engineers and other program management and operations team members.

Expectations:

  • Students will be expected to work full-time, on-site during the internship.
  • Students may rotate between our facilities in Livonia and Sterling Heights to expose them to different manufacturing environments, programs and teams.
  • Students are expected to be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Students are expected to be able to learn new concepts and apply them to real-world problems.
  • Students are expected to be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Students are expected to demonstrate our organization values of safety, quality, integrity, excellence, accountability and teamwork at all times.

Goals:

  • The goals of the internship are to:
    • Provide students with hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Help students to develop their problem solving skills.
    • Give students the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with experienced engineers and other team members.
    • Give students the opportunity to network with professionals in the manufacturing industry.
    • Help students prepare for a career in engineering.

Additional Details:

  • The internship will run from May to August.
  • The internship will be paid.

Eligibility: Junior, Senior Year Status (30 + Credit Hours) or Masters Degree Status.  OPT or CPT Status or Sponsorship are not eligible for internships.  Authorization to work within the United States is required and some internships may require ITAR Compliance.
