Job Title: Global Services Accounts Payable Intern – Summer 2024

Location: Northville, Michigan

This position is responsible for managing vendor accounts payable issues, processing claims and implementing preventative measures to eliminate future recurrences. The position may be based in Northville, Michigan and reports directly to the Accounts Payable Manager of the company.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for investigation, analysis, escalation and resolution of vendor accounts payable issues to ensure timely payments to vendors and to maximize company cash flow
  • Process vendor claims and disputes, with the end goal of determining root cause of disputes and implement preventative measures to eliminate future recurrences
  • Extensive interaction with other areas within Motorparts and Ride Performance divisions of Tenneco and our off-shore 3rd party provider to resolve vendor disputes and payment delays

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Education:  

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration

Experience:

  • A minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must be an undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, or Senior

 

Skills

  • Strong mathematical and organizational skills
  • The ability to balance multiple tasks and to prioritize in an effective manner
  • Initiative; that is, the ability to self-direct / start toward the identification and resolution of issues
  • Communication skills – must be prepared to work in an cross-functional environment and with colleagues at all levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
