Events Intern

The Rainbow Connection is seeking an Events Intern to prepare for their annual fundraiser and help with general marketing of the nonprofit and the mission. The intern will gain valuable skills in relationship building, marketing, planning and organizing events.

Reports to:  Operations & Human Resource Director and Co-Event Director        

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assist with The Rainbow Connection Scholarship Program application process 
  • Assist with coordination of the Scholarship Breakfast 
  • Write press releases, blog posts and other marketing materials 
  • Assist with major event planning
  • Support at events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Experience & Skills 

Creative writing skills a plus

Business communications skills, both oral and written

Self motivated

Strong team player, flexible

Experience with MS Office/Outlook/Excel

Maintain confidentiality of information

Physical Requirements

Ability to do light office work

Ability to do keyboarding

Ability to lift 20 pounds
