MDOT Student Assistant (Travel Information Unit) - Planning

THIS IS A NON-CAREER APPOINTMENT THAT IS LIMITED TO 129 HOURS PER MONTH

The next student assistant in planning will be responsible for:
 

  • Supporting the Traffic Data and Management System (TDMS), including assigning historical traffic data with the TDMS software, data scrubbing, data review, and data entry.
  • Locating, editing, and assigning spatial information to traffic count locations in the Traffic Count module (TCDS).
  • Locating and assigning intersection numbers for the Turning Movement module (TMC).
  • Locating, editing, and/or updating spatial data items as needed in specific software.

The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of this Student Assistant position.

Required Education and Experience

 

 

 

Education 

 

Current enrollment in high school, vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution.

 

Preferred completion of 24 semester hours (or 36 term hours) in college toward a degree (bachelor's or higher) in the following fields: Urban or Regional Planning,  Economics, Resource Development, Geography, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or other related field. 


MDOT requires current enrollment in at least 6 credit hours and continuously enrolled and earning the required credits.

Please submit proof of enrollment which includes unofficial transcripts, an acceptance letter from the college/university (as long as it is for the upcoming semester/term), copy of current semester/term schedule, or a receipt of tuition payment that shows a balance of $0.00.  Failure to attach proof of enrollment may result in you being screened out of the process.
