Operations Management Internship

Central Transport LLC is one of the nation’s leading LTL (Less-than-Truckload) carriers to date. With growth and opportunity at the forefront of our vision for the future, we are excited to launch our flagship Management Internship, a unique opportunity for college students interested in gaining real-world experience in the logistics space. Throughout this 10-week program, participants will receive extensive hands-on training at our Corporate Office in Michigan and an endline terminal in their respective metropolitan areas. 

 

Upon completion of the internship, participants will have the unique opportunity to join our Operations Management Trainee Program after completing their Bachelor’s degree. The Operations Management Trainee Program places graduates as Supervisors or Terminal Managers across our terminal network. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Engage in all aspects of the structured training program and learn all aspects of linehaul, city dispatch, inbound and outbound operations. 
  • Develop knowledge and ability to prepare and plan the daily utilization of resources to ensure a consistent and efficient operation.
  • Learn the methods of on-the-job safety to foster safe handling and loading of hazardous materials.
  • Develop a strong comprehension of the company operational model, policies and procedures.
  • Completes department/area knowledge indicators and develops new indicators as well as process and procedure changes.

 

Qualifications:

  • Working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Career interest in Transportation, Supply Chain or Logistics.
  • Effective organizational and planning skills.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be willing to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts within a 40-hour work week.
  • Willingness to relocate upon completion of training program, either temporarily or permanently.
