Environmental Education Intern

Environmental Education intern will assist staff and volunteers with classroom and field instruction for school programs throughout the Skagit and Samish watersheds.  These programs include hands-on activities to teach students about salmon biology and habitat needs, water quality, native plants, and riparian ecosystems.  Typically students range between 3rd and 8th grade. 

Must have general knowledge of (or desire to learn) salmon biology and habitat, some experience and/or comfort working with children, reliable vehicle and clean driving record. 
Be organized and motivated, comfortable working as part of a team, willing to work outdoors in adverse weather, willing and able to pass a background check.

This internship coincides with the school year (Sept-June).  Six month internships are eligible for a paid stipend. Interns are VOLUNTEERS who are getting a stipend to offset the costs associated with living while volunteering. The exact time commitment will depend on interest and availability.
