Administrative Specialist

The Clark County Water Reclamation District is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Administrative Specialist position. 

 

This recruitment will be used to fill current and futures vacancies in both Procurement and Asset Management & Reliability Service Groups.


Procurement
This position will be primarily responsible for:

  • Processing purchase requests and creating purchase orders against requests for quotations and Contract Purchase Agreements.
  • Understanding the ERP system (Oracle/Maximo) and be proficient with all other required software programs utilized to manage District requirements.
  • Meet regularly with both internal customers and external suppliers, as well as attend vendor fairs to provide prospective suppliers with District purchasing opportunities and purchasing guidelines.
  • Understanding and applying all NRS laws applicable to individual requirements, basic principles and practices of public procurement, including competitive bidding practices.

Asset Management & Reliability
This position will be primarily responsible for: 

  • Providing administrative support to executive and mid-level managers.
  • Tracking service contract renewals, performance evaluations, safety training and follow up correspondence.
  • Submitting purchase orders and training/travel requests through NeoGov.
  • Administering spreadsheets/databases to compile data for reports to management and cross-functional service groups.
  • Assisting with form processing, data handling, reporting and communications for District programs.
  • Basic knowledge of Asset Management and Reliability concepts.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:
Equivalent to an Associate's Degree with major course work in business or public administration or a related field, AND three (3) years of full-time office administrative, secretarial or technical experience related to the work of the functional unit. Possession of a four-year college degree AND prior lead or supervisory experience are desirable.

License/Certification: Specified positions may be required to possess a valid Nevada Driver's License at time of appointment. 

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
