Engineering Intern

We are seeking a full time Engineering Intern to support the engineering team. The intern’s primary responsibilities will be to create, update, and maintain engineering drawings and documentation using Solidworks and to perform failure analysis testing on Class I and Class II medical devices. 

Additionally, the intern will provide engineering support to active projects across a variety of related fields including quality assurance, new product development, inventory control, manufacturing documentation, regulatory compliance, and assist in project development for system improvements and device design. Failure analysis will include temperature, electrical, and mechanical testing methods to diagnose cause of failure for company products and include the potential for developing new testing methods within the scope of product use.

The intern will receive support from the engineering team, but is expected to take ownership of their assignments. Preference will be given to candidates who desire to continue working through the fall/spring semesters.

 

Location: This position is based out of our Engineering Office in Portage, MI

 

Hours: 40 hours/week during the summer. Prefer at least 15 hours/week during school.

 

Desired Skills:

-GPA 3.0 or above.

-Pursuing Engineering degree.

-Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on Excel

-Proficiency with Solidworks.

-Understanding of GD&T principles.

-Self-starter who is driven to complete assignments.

-Highly attentive and detail oriented.

 

Responsibilities:

-Create part models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks.

-Update existing engineering documentation, such as drawings, inspection forms, work instructions, etc.

-Analyze data and work with the engineering team to complete a wide array of different projects.

-Conduct product performance testing analyze data.

-Engineering and Quality support projects as assigned.
