Year-Round Supplier Quality Intern - Auburn Hills, MI

FORVIA is looking for a Year-Round Supplier Quality Intern for our Auburn Hills, MI location.

 

Position Summary: The Supplier Quality Intern is responsible for aiding the Supplier Quality group in completion of specific assigned tasks and projects. The Intern will obtain experience and knowledge within their field of educational pursuit through successful completion of these tasks and projects.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Leading assigned projects
    • Monitoring of supplier certification (ISO 9001 and IATF 16949) standard or another requirement in Global Purchasing System (GPS)
    • Maintain Internal auditor certification credentials in MS Teams for the Supplier Quality team
    • Create training and Polyvalence matrix for the Supplier Quality team

 

  • Data processing and reports
    • Access internal database (QSS, GPS, Ariba, BI) to monitor numbers of quality problems by suppliers and create pivot table in Excel for further analysis 
    • Periodical Supplier Quality tracking, reporting and distribution to department or teams as defined by organization

 

  • Product and process knowledge
    • Shadow supplier quality team members while visiting local plants to learn Faurecia products and processes   
      • Door panels, Instrument panels, Central consoles
      • Injection molding, Lamination, Assembly, Welding, Sewing, Painting, etc. 
  • Propose continuous improvement ideas in business efficiency and cost reduction
  • Capitalizes on knowledge and shares best practices / lessons learned across organization and within the site

Education / Experience:

  • Full or part time student (20 to 30 hours per week)
    • Must be a currently enrolled student at an accredited university
    • Preparing a college degree in one of the following: Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering por any additional programs related to this field.
