Social Media Intern/Contractor

About Us:

We are a newly launched ecommerce brand parented by Fleetwood Group Inc, specializing in electronic dog collars. Our mission is to enhance the relationship between dogs and their owners by providing innovative and reliable products. As a brand-new company, we are excited to build our social media presence from the ground up and are looking for a passionate and creative individual to join our team.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Social Media Intern/Contractor who loves dogs and is enthusiastic about creating engaging content on our various Social Media platforms. This role involves creating and editing photos and videos, posting regularly, interacting with our community, and establishing social media processes and best practices.

Responsibilities:

Content Creation:

  • Develop and design engaging photos and videos for Instagram feed and Reels.
  • Create posts that are fun, informal, and aligned with our brand voice.
  • Edit visual content to ensure high quality and appeal.

Community Management:

  • Respond to comments and messages in a timely and friendly manner.
  • Identify strategic accounts (brands, influencers) to follow and engage with.
  • Engage with followers and commentors, fostering a positive online narrative.

Trend Monitoring:

  • Stay updated with social media trends and events relevant to our brand.
  • Post content that is timely and capitalizes on current trends.

Collaboration:

  • Repost and amplify content from our 3rd party brand ambassadors.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to align social media efforts with overall marketing strategy.

*About 20-30 hours per week*

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Dogs: A love for dogs and an understanding of pet owners' needs.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written communication skills with attention to spelling and grammar.
  • Creativity: Ability to create visually appealing and engaging content.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in photo and video editing tools.
  • Social Media Savvy: Familiarity with Instagram and Facebook platforms, including trends and best practices.
  • Experience: Past work promoting a product or brand on Instagram is a plus.
  • Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Location: While the role is remote, candidates based in West MI or Greater Lansing, MI are preferred for occasional in-person meetings.
