Group Sales Intern - Fall 2024 - Paid Internship

Position Summary:

Interns will assist with and attend sales trade shows, go on customer sales calls, and lead customer tours of the Aquarium. Interns will also complete various research and data entry projects as well as act as the first point of contact for guest/client inquiries.

Interns will experience a mix of attending shows, behind the scenes tours, educational programs, special events and animal interactive programs throughout their internship. Group Sales interns will also gain an understanding of administrative duties and aid the Assistant Manager and Group Sales Coordinator in day-to-day office tasks. This internship will give students the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience and make connections in professional fields where they are considering pursuing careers.

 

Responsibilities:

Daily responsibilities include:

  1. Provide support to the Group Sales team in all aspects of the sales process
  2. Assist Coordinator / Assistant Manager with incoming calls and emails
  3. Manage marketing material distribution to outlets (CVBs, AAA, etc)
  4. Assigns Salesforce leads to appropriate Sales Manager
  5. Oversee administrator tasks i.e., mail runs, partner sales, office supply orders
  6. Supports Sales Managers in various department events
  7. Create and present a project that targets a new group sales market
  8. Attend intern courses and classes that will expand your knowledge of Georgia Aquarium

 

Qualifications:

  1. Must have an interest or major in event management, marketing, hospitality, or related field.
  2. Excellent customer service and communication skills
  3. Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  4. Interns must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. This internship requires a varying schedule of 3-4 days per week and may include weekends and holidays. Average hours per week are 20-24.
  6. This is an experience-based, paid internship.

Mandatory Fall 2024 Orientation: Wednesday, October 2nd, 2024.
