As an IT Intern at IP, there are three distinct role categories where a candidate may align and ultimately hire into for a specific opportunity. Each role provides a unique experience to learn, grow and develop as an IT professional. The roles are Application Developer, Business Analyst and Systems Analyst. A candidate will align based upon the following role descriptions:

 

Application Developers are responsible for providing technical application solutions that enable IP to do business every day.  Activities include consulting, technical design, development, unit testing, sustain, and continuous improvement. This includes the full development life cycle and extends from modifications of packaged software solutions all the way to fully developed in-house custom solutions.


 The following are example skills that a successful candidate may possess and will build:

  • ERP (e.g. SAP, Witron, Kiwi) development needs for different business functions: Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, HR
  • Knowledge of Technology Platforms: SAP, Microsoft .NET, Progress, iOS, Android, SAP Fiori, BI
  • Databases: Oracle, Microsoft SQL
  • Languages: Python, Microsoft Azure, Objective-C, Java, CSS, HTML5, SAPUI5, C #, C++
  • SAP: ABAP, Object Oriented ABAP, JAVA, Abap Webdynpro, Adobe Forms, Sapscript, Smartforms
  • Web Development: XML, HTML, HTML5, SAPUI5, JavaScript
  • Mobile Development: IOS (C#), Android (Java), WebApps (HTML5, SAPUI5, PhoneGap)

 

Business Analysts work to align processes and technologies to enhance business strategies. This role is responsible for the requirements gathering and clarification stage of a project, along with the testing, change management and deployment of IT solutions and service projects. Improving business processes, project management and business analysis skills are keys to success. IT tools are in place and utilized to enhance internal efficiencies and external customer interactions. 

 

In addition, the following are example skills that a successful candidate may possess and will build:

  • Well-rounded IT background and technical knowledge
  • Project management
  • Business analysis and requirements definition / documentation
  • Business case development
  • Process mapping, improvement and implementation
  • Change management
  • Issue and risk management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience or knowledge of large-scale ERP Solutions (e.g. SAP, Witron, Kiwi)
  • Specialized IT skills are a plus (e.g. Business Intelligence analysis, database reporting)

 

Systems Analysts are found in a wide range of sustain and support service departments covering areas like Hardware and Software Support, Enterprise Computing, Database Operations, the Global Data Network and many other key service areas in support of IP’s global infrastructure.

 

The following are example skills that a successful candidate may possess and will build:

  • Hardware, Software, and Configuration support of Workstations, Mobile / Peripheral Devices, Printers, and Servers
  • Network support and configuration: RF, APs, WiFi, TCP/IP, switches, cabling, troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Operating System administration
  • Knowledge of Database systems:  Backup/Recovery, Clustering, troubleshooting, configuration
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products: Active Directory, Office, Outlook, Azure
  • Knowledge of Security systems: Anti-virus, zero trust administration, remote connectivity
  • Project Management
  • Inventory management
  • Process improvement and development
  • Networking for cross-platform environments
  • Other technologies: email, SAP, Windows, Unix, web portals, etc.

  • Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in the following fields of study; Business/Computer/Management Information Systems; Computer – Science/Engineering/Technology; Engineering – Software/Computer/Electrical; Logistics; Supply Chain
