$1,647 - $2,123 semimonthly (USCORE)  

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.

The Job You Will Perform: 

International Paper’s Commercial Internship is designed for Sales or Marketing degree-seeking students pursuing a long-term career in Sales and will offer personalized and diversified, on-the-job development while providing exposure to our company’s commercial business strategy & culture. Students will acquire real world experience as they are exposed to various areas of the commercial organization and work with leaders to provide efficient and effective commercial solutions to help drive IP’s overall strategy. 

 

The internship program aims to develop business-oriented skills in students who are eager to enhance their professional capabilities and commit to rejoining the program each subsequent summer for further advancement. The internship will take place between May and August.  

 

Key responsibilities include: 

Reports to the Sales Manager at a manufacturing facility and is to function as an active member of the facility team responsible for project work related to developing, implementing, and enhancing systems that improve the performance of commercial processes, with an emphasis on full customer satisfaction, safety and commercial excellence.  

An intern experience at one of our manufacturing plants would include a process improvement project. The successful candidate, under the leadership of the project champion, will analyze, develop and implement improvement solutions. This will involve utilization of deliberate improvement processes and techniques as well as team facilitation and leadership skills. Each location will have specified projects and deliverables that will be established prior to the beginning of the intern experience.  

In addition to project work, the successful candidate will work closely with the Sales Manager on commercial systems, reporting and analysis of customer products and orders, ensuring standardization of processes, and improving process efficiency.  

Must be flexible around work schedule and can travel on an occasional basis.   

 

The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring:  

Qualified candidates will be pursuing a BA/BS degree with a focus in Professional Sales or a related field.  

Must have the drive, initiative and a desire to work in a manufacturing setting while achieving commercial objectives. 

Excellent communication skills.  

Coursework or other experiences related to customer service and prospecting, preferred.   

Strong skills in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel and Power Point   

Applicants must be at least 18 years old by May 2025 to be eligible.
