UI/UX Design Intern

Our mission is to empower pet owners with tools to ensure their pets' wellbeing and make pet care more affordable and accessible.

 

Position Overview

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic UI/UX Design Intern to join our team. This unpaid internship is ideal for someone who is passionate about user-centered design, enjoys creating intuitive interfaces, and wants to gain hands-on experience in a startup environment. You will have the opportunity to work on real projects that will directly impact our users and help shape the future of pet care.

 

Key Responsibilities

User Research: Assist in conducting user research and gathering feedback to understand user needs, pain points, and preferences.

Wireframing & Prototyping: Create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to illustrate design ideas and concepts.

UI Design: Help design visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for our mobile app and website, ensuring consistency with our brand guidelines.

Usability Testing: Participate in usability testing sessions, analyze results, and make recommendations for improvements.

Collaboration: Work closely with the product, development, and marketing teams to ensure designs are aligned with overall business goals.

Design Documentation: Assist in creating and maintaining design documentation, style guides, and component libraries.

 

Qualifications

Education: Currently pursuing a degree in UI/UX Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.

Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing UI/UX design projects (academic or personal projects are acceptable).

Understanding of Design Principles: Solid grasp of color theory, typography, layout, and responsive design.

Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to approach design challenges with creativity and analytical thinking.

Attention to Detail: Meticulous eye for design elements and user interactions.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate design decisions.

Passion for Pets: A genuine interest in pet care and improving the lives of pets and their owners.
