Access Control Lab Co-Op

Schneider Electric has a new opportunity for an Access Control Lab Co-Op to join our team based in Andover, MA. The ideal candidate will start in January 2025 and stay for 6-8 months. 

The primary purpose of the Access Control Lab is to validate various aspects of Schneider Electric Access Control offers. This includes: 

  • Validating software and firmware 
  • Create compelling access control demos for customer tours 
  • Validating documentation 
  • Validating integrations and associated application notes 
  • Validating training material 
  • Wiring hardware 
  • Creating custom scripts for Intergrations and automation 
  • Conducting quarterly maintenance releases and annual feature releases. 

What will you do?

  • Wiring and configuring lab equipment for testing and demonstration purposes.
  • Programming and setting up test systems to support ongoing projects and research.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized operational demo lab for showcasing products and solutions.
  • Creating additional demonstration setups to expand the capabilities of the demo lab and enhance product presentations.
  • Collaborating with team members to support various lab activities and initiatives.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Currently pursuing a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science or related fields.
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal. Applicants must speak fluent English. 
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of Windows-based PC hardware/software and networking (TCP/IP) technology.
  • Basic understanding of wiring and configuring electronic equipment.
  • Familiarity with programming languages and ability to learn new software tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining a clean and efficient demo lab.
  • Proactive and creative mindset to contribute to the creation of new and existing demo setups.
  • Ability to work full-time based in our Andover R&D Hub. Massachusetts. USA
  • Duration of Internship: 6 months or 12 month Internship is desirable depending on candidate interest and availability.
