JOB DESCRIPTION

 The IT Intern is responsible for assisting the Dexter IT Team with IT projects, support the HelpDesk, support maintenance of systems and equipment, support software and hardware rollout efforts of the Company, and collect and analyze and report as required.  More specifically, this position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following: 

• Assists with oversight of daily performance of computer systems   

• Monitors assigned systems and infrastructure

• Provides technical assistance to computer system users and is capable of providing 2nd and 3rd level support in later assignments and in Junior/Senior years of school

• Investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves problems   

• Sets up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cable, operating systems, and appropriate software 

• Helps support IT personnel at remote facilities   

• Maintains equipment inventory, recycling unused equipment and tracking equipment movement between facilities   

• Performs repairs and upgrades to hardware and software

• Helps ensure that ERP software meets business requirements

• Installs, configures, tests and maintains operating systems, application software and system management tools

• Performs security reviews, audits, and maintenance procedures as assigned

• Participates in the global information security team to develop and enforce organizational security standards for infrastructure, systems, and applications

• Monitors and tests application performance and assists developers to implement improvements 

• Participates in maintenance of security, backup, and redundancy efforts

• Participates in the design of information and operational support systems

• Liaises with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution 

• Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION

You must be actively enrolled an accredited university working towards a bachelors or masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related computing degree.
