FALL 2024 - Investment Strategy Intern (REMOTE)

As a Shark Group Investment Strategy Intern, you are an important part of the team. You will work directly with the Manager of Business Development on research, reporting, coordination, and evaluation tasks essential for maintaining smooth operations and strategic alignment. This role offers valuable exposure to executive functions and provides an opportunity to contribute directly to the company’s growth and efficiency.

Overview: The Shark Group is a marketing consulting firm that offers branding solutions for its world‐class clients of top brands and celebrities founded by Daymond John, CEO & Founder of FUBU and star of ABC’s hit business show Shark Tank. It has perfected the methods to ingrain companies, brands, and products into the social consciousness.

  • Marketing, Communications, and/or Business Administration majors preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with knowledge of both Mac and PC platforms.
     

Responsibilities Include:

Interns will be exposed to a variety of projects and assignments throughout the course of their internship, in line with their educational goals and career interests. Some of these responsibilities, projects, and assignments have been provided below:

  • Support the Manager of Business Development in any and all aspects of day-to-day operation of division.
  • Client Research: Conduct in-depth research on clients, including their industry trends, key contacts, and strategic needs. Prepare summaries and insights to support client relationship management.
  • Monthly Company Updates: Prepare and compile monthly updates on company performance, key metrics, and strategic initiatives. Ensure timely distribution to relevant stakeholders.
  • Internal Reporting: Create and maintain internal reports on various aspects of the business, including project status, operational metrics, and strategic progress.
  • Team Reminders: Manage reminders and follow-ups for the team regarding important meetings, deadlines, and company interactions to ensure timely and effective communication.
  • Board Meeting Preparation: Assist in preparing notes, agendas, and materials for board meetings. Support the preparation of presentation content and ensure all necessary information is organized.
  • Vesting Updates: Keep the team informed about vesting schedules and relevant deadlines. Ensure that all employees are aware of their vesting status and important dates.
  • Opportunity Vetting: Evaluate and research new business opportunities, partnerships, and projects. Provide analysis and recommendations on the potential value and feasibility of new initiatives.
  • Deliverables Management: Track and ensure the completion of assigned deliverables and projects. Coordinate with various departments to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and meet quality standards.

  • Support executive functions and gain insight into high-level decision-making.
  • Develop strong time management and organizational skills.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college or university and able to receive credit for your internship at The Shark Group.
  • Maximum of 20 hour commitment per week
  • Must provide an official school letter acknowledging proof of enrollment and eligibility.
  • All internships will be remote, candidates must have access to working WIFI and a computer/ laptop

     

A daily attendance stipend of $10 per day will be tallied and paid out at the end of each month via a mailed check.
