Tax Support Intern

 

Herbein + Company, Inc. is actively seeking a Tax Support Intern for Spring 2025 (January thru April 2025) to work 25 hours per week, with flexible hours to work around your school schedule. You will receive training, generous pay, the opportunity to work with experienced professionals and gain valuable hands-on experience and insight into the public accounting world. Internship opportunities are available in the following office locations: Allentown, Greensburg, Royersford, Reading, Spring House, Warrendale.


 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Financial Document Management - Organize, file, and archive financial documents, both electronic and hard copies.
  • Tax Preparation Support - Assemble tax returns, prepare tax packets, and assist in getting them ready for clients.
  • Team Collaboration - Join team meetings, share ideas, and communicate professionally with your colleagues.
  • Time Management - Master the art of juggling multiple tasks while meeting deadlines during busy periods.
  • Professionalism - Learn office etiquette, dress for success, and demonstrate reliability in everything you do.
  • Problem-Solving - Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving, learning to anticipate and address issues.
  • Attention to Detail - Ensure accuracy by double-checking work and spotting any discrepancies.
  • Confidentiality - Handle sensitive information with the utmost care and respect for client confidentiality.

 

Requirements

 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university interested in exploring career opportunities within public accounting or pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or a related area of study as a Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must exercise complete confidentiality
  • Adept at meeting deadlines
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Detail focused and driven to achieve high standards
  • Ability to work additional and non-traditional hours as required to meet client requirements
