Library Technology Mentor
Library Technology Mentors serve at the OU Libraries' Technology Help Desk which is located in the north wing of the second floor of Kresge Library. Mentors will combine a high level of customer service skills with an intermediate to advanced knowledge of computer software and hardware to assist library patrons (OU students, OU faculty, guests to the library) in using a variety of computer software, software services and hardware devices.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist library patrons (student, faculty, staff, OU Guests) with a variety of computer software applications such as MSOffice; Apple Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie, Final Cut Pro; SPSS, Adobe Creative Cloud and others
2. Help patrons with printing and scanning
3. Guide patrons in the use of technology in the library's collaboration spaces.
4. Diagnose and repair--when possible--problems on patron's portable computing devices.
5. Assist patrons with OU network accounts and wireless connections.
6. Adhere to library policies and procedures
7. Explain policies and procedures to patrons
8. Assist in maintaining the appearance of the library
9. Report problems to supervisor
10. Must be customer oriented, pleasant, courteous and approachable
11. Must work well as part of a team
12. Other duties as assigned
