Intern, Security Analyst (Summer 2025)
Outcomes and Activities:
- Participate in either the Threat Vulnerability Management or Identity Access Management Program and provide necessary support to enhance the security of business applications and security platforms.
- Contribute to identifying areas for improvement and work with the team to set goals for future enhancements.
- Contribute to information security policies, standards, procedures, playbooks and other documentation as needed to improve information security capabilities.
- Create a defined set of metrics and dashboards to demonstrate the effectiveness of security controls and security team operations.
- Participate in security architecture reviews and exception approval processes.
- Generate security related artifacts as needed to meet internal and external compliance requirements.
- Keep abreast of industry and technology threats to guide security decisions.
Requirements:
- Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree with a related field of study (e.g., Computer Science, IT, Cyber-Security).
- Conceptual understanding of cyber security principles, tools such as Privileged Access Management, EDR, Query searches
- Experience working in a team environment
Preferred:
- Experience using cyber security systems and products
- Experience in system administration or help desk
- Proficiency in one or more of the following--Java, Python, XML, HTML, C#, Objective C; database design & development including SQL
Knowledge and Skills:
- Show initiative and the desire to learn new technologies
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a proven ability to think outside the box.
- Be introspective and open to feedback to continuously improve; prioritize personal development and identify potential barriers
- Ability to communicate technical information (both verbal and written)
- Knowledge of least privilege and risk management concepts.
- Knowledge of information security policies and procedures.
Targeted Compensation: $23/hour
