SUMMER 2025 INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
ABOUT ECCT
ECCT is in its 35th season of providing quality family entertainment this spring. Located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, ECCT annually presents over 16 productions (Broadway musicals and shows based on children’s literature) using a combination of youth and adult performers in two area venues. School matinee performances, classes and touring productions are offered in addition to many annual special events including a Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre, Starquest and Dancing with the Eau Claire Stars. With a budget of over $612,000 and annual attendance of over 32,000 patrons, ECCT is one of the largest community theatres in western Wisconsin. In the summer of 2007 ECCT purchased and renovated their current home and in the spring of 2010 opened a new multi-purpose performance space, The Oxford. In September of 2018 the $60M Pablo Center opened and serves as the home for all major ECCT productions.
REQUIREMENTS
All applicants must be 18 years of age and must complete required paperwork to be considered for an internship. Applicants must be US citizens and have a valid driver’s license. Applicants need not be currently enrolled in a university theatre program.
POSITIONS OFFERED
We are offering opportunities for four interns- two Costume Interns and two Education Interns.
Hours will vary based on show schedules and the needs of the organization throughout the fall- 40 hours per week. Depending on their skills and interests, interns will also have the opportunity to do design work and/or perform on stage. Interns will earn $6000 for the summer. Housing is provided. While dates may be flexible, internships basically run 12 weeks, from May 27- August 15, 2025.
SCHOOL CREDIT
Applicants who wish to receive class credit for their internship will need to coordinate the details with their school advisor and ECCT. The applicant is responsible to communicate needs of the institution to ECCT. We will complete any necessary paper work and make adjustments to the schedule and work load to fulfill university requirements.

THEATRE COSTUME AND WARDROBE INTERN- SUMMER 2024
I. POSITION OBJECTIVES: To provide superior technical expertise in the areas of Costume Design and Construction for ECCT productions, rentals and special events. To help oversee day to day costume shop operations. To be an active member of the Production Staff, assisting in the areas of hair and makeup and properties as capable.
II. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:
Recruited by: Executive Director
Salary/Benefits: $6000 plus free housing
Schedule: May 27, 2025- August 15, 2025
Full time salaried position; schedule will flex between daytime, evening and
weekend hours depending on ECCT production schedule
III. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Costumers
Supervises: Community volunteers
Coordinates with: Costume Shop Manager
IV. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
· BA/BS in Costume Design, Theatre, Fashion Merchandising or related field desired or comparable experience in the field
· Demonstrated costume design ability
· Intermediate to advanced sewing skills
· Knowledge of theatrical style, conventions and terminology
· Strong oral communication skills
· Background in or appreciation of theatre
· Demonstrated ability to recruit and work with volunteers
· Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
· Strong organizational skills and highly motivated with strong work ethic
· Ability to work with minimal supervision
V. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND SAMPLE TASKS:
· Provide costume construction and design assistance for ECCT Summer 2025 productions including NEWSIES, Magic Treehouse DINOSAURS BEFORE DARK, TALES FROM THE BROTHERS GRIMM, THE PIED PIPER OF HAMELIN, Disney's ALICE IN WONDERLAND JR., THE WIZARD OF OZ and MISCAST 2025.
· Assist with outside rentals and special events
· Supervise volunteers on work nights
· Work with properties coordinator on fabric projects
· Assist with hair and makeup design as able
· Serve on the running crew for shows
