Student Cybersecurity Analyst
Under the direction of full time staff in the University Technology Services Department, the Student Cybersecurity Analyst will have the opportunity for hands-on experience in the exciting field of Information Security, including but not limited to:
- Monitoring performance and health of Network and Security devices.
- Monitoring and Analyzing firewall / Security device configuration, logs, reports and scan results.
- Conducting Network and Application Security scans
- Auditing Firewall rules and configuration.
- Researching new technologies related to Network and Information Security
- Assisting with Security device management including firewalls, Network Access Control (NAC) and Security Information & Event Management (SIEM)
-Participate in Information Security related projects assigned by staff members.
- Assist in coordinating, planning, and executing of large scale projects.
- Perform Physical installation of Information Security equipment.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to work during maintenance windows (12AM-8AM ) a minimum of once per month. With advanced notice, participation may be requested more frequently. Maintenance windows typically occur on Wednesday mornings.
- Be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Interact with individuals with diverse technical backgrounds.
- Be able to work between 15 - 20 hrs per week during school year (Monday through Friday between 8am - 5:00 pm.)
- Can work on-site, remote, or a combination of both.
- If working remote, must be able to work on-site at OU when needed.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
