Job Title: Recombinant Protein Expression Intern

Project Overview:

Innovative Research is seeking an intern in molecular biology and protein biochemistry to assist in expressing, purifying, and analyzing a recombinant protein for inventory replenishment and process development. This hands-on opportunity will provide training in fundamental lab techniques, protein expression systems, and purification methods while contributing to ongoing research and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Prepare reagents, buffers, and culture media.
  • Perform cell culture techniques, including passaging and maintaining sterility.
  • Participate in the expression, induction, and cultivation of recombinant proteins.
  • Analyze protein samples via SDS-PAGE, spectrophotometry, and other assays.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records and document experimental results.
  • Support senior scientists in troubleshooting and improving protein expression protocols.
  • Assist in SOP audit of existing protocols.
  • Document experimental data, and present findings to the team.

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of molecular biology techniques and lab procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to learn and follow lab protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with laboratory equipment and good laboratory practices (GLP) is a plus.
  • Sterile Technique

 

 

Project Duration: 9-12 weeks
