What I liked

I very much liked the research that I conducted throughout my internship, along with a strong balance between individual inquiry and group projects.

What I wish was different

There were an excessive amount of assignments assigned at the last minute, that I had to complete in a relatively short period of time. I also wished that there was more unstructured interaction between the interns and AbbVie employees.

Advice

Be prepared to work and constantly learn. Moreover, don't be afraid to ask if you happen to have any questions.

Summer Research Intern

May - August 2018 • North Chicago, IL

What I liked

I had the freedom to apply my own knowledge to take on a personal research project along with my main project. Everyone respects you there and is willing to help you learn.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more rigorous projects because 2 wasn't enough. I found myself having a lot of down time.

Try your best to get to know as many people as possible. It's only an internship, so the work you do is not as important as building your network. This will ensure that you get an opportunity to come back.
