Lansing, MI (Hybrid-2 days onsite)

12-month contract, potential for permanent hire

25-30/hr

 

About the Role

Our client in Lansing, MI is seeking an eager and detail-oriented Junior Salesforce Developer to support and maintain their Salesforce platform by applying their pre-existing knowledge in Java, Javascript and HTML within Brooksource's rigorous military focused training program, Project Patriot.
 

This is a great opportunity for someone looking to apply their foundational software development skills in a collaborative environment, with an emphasis on Salesforce Development. You will be engaging in our early-talent program and also receive on the job technical training, professional development/military transition assistance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in Salesforce Application Development: Create custom objects, workflows, triggers, and other components to extend Salesforce functionality.
  • Coding with Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Components: Learn and utilize Salesforce's proprietary programming language, Apex, along with Visualforce and Lightning components for building user interfaces and applications.
  • Testing and Debugging: Participate in testing and quality assurance activities to identify and resolve issues in Salesforce applications.
  • Collaborating with Teams: Working with business analysts, system administrators, and other developers to gather requirements, design solutions, and ensure timely project delivery.
  • Learning and Applying Best Practices: Staying up-to-date with the latest Salesforce features, best practices, and development technique. Our Project Patriot cohort has monthly professional development to keep you up to date, as well as access to online instruction for you to complete independently.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Assisting in resolving technical issues and maintaining existing Salesforce applications.

 

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of experience in doing software development in Java, Javascript and HTML AND/OR Salesforce Development — ideally in a professional or academic capacity.

1st Day of work: 21 July

Hiring Manager Interviews: 24-27th of June

Recruiter1st & 2nd round interviews: 19th-23rd of June

 

Required Skills

  • Java, JavaScript, HTML scripting proficiency.
  • Desire to learn and grow within the Salesforce platform.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — documentation is key in this role.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to Salesforce Lightning, Salesforce Apex, OmniStudio
  • Seeking stability-this role feeds into the state government, where they want people to retire from.
  • AS or BS in Computer Science or Software Development
