About the Role
Our client in Lansing, MI is seeking an eager and detail-oriented Junior Visual Studio Developer to support and maintain their Salesforce platform by applying their pre-existing knowledge in .NET within Brooksource's rigorous military focused training program, Project Patriot.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to apply their foundational software development skills in a collaborative environment, with an emphasis on Visual Studio. You will be engaging in our early-talent program and receive on the job technical training, professional development/military transition assistance.
Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining and updating internal software using Microsoft Visual Studio and VB.NET.
- Support the development of new tools and applications under the guidance of senior developers.
- Document software changes, procedures, and user guides.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their needs and help improve internal systems.
- Participate in training sessions and cross-training opportunities within the IT team.
Qualifications
- 0–3 years of experience in doing software development in .Net and/or Visual Studio— ideally in a professional or academic capacity.
- BA or BS
- Your timeline for employment is compatible with ours:
1st Day of work: 21 July
Hiring Manager Interviews: 24-27th of June
Recruiter 1st & 2nd round interviews: 19th-23rd of June
Required Skills
- .Net scripting proficiency.
- Desire to learn and grow within Visual Studio.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills — documentation is key in this role.
Preferred Skills
- Exposure to Visual Studio and experience writing within it
- Seeking stability-this role feeds into the state government, where they want people to retire from.
- AS or BS in Computer Science or Software Development
