Gap Year Intern / Clinical Medical Assistant

Gap Year Intern Program - Effective immediately – ongoing

The Department of Dermatology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine offers a highly competitive Gap Year Intern Program for recent college graduates preparing to enter medical or other health professional schools. This is a full-time, paid internship, and a two-year commitment is preferred.   As a Gap Year Intern / Clinical Medical Assistant, you will become a vital member of a high-functioning academic medical team. Interns gain extensive hands-on clinical experience, working closely with top physicians and researchers—including Dr. Shawn Kwatra, Joseph W. Burnett Endowed Professor and Chairman of Dermatology. Participants rotate through general, medical, and surgical dermatology services while developing patient care skills applicable across all specialties.
