Rust Software Engineer
VOCAL Technologies is actively seeking a Rust Software Engineer to join our growing team supporting Telecommunications and Embedded Systems development. This candidate plays an important role carrying out a range of responsibilities to include:
Developing technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses, and understanding of impact on end-product/solution.
Developing solutions to technical problems and issues through research and experimentation.
- Porting of C software to Rust
An Ideal candidate will have the following experience
Required Experience:
Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
3+ years experience in the development and implementation of software solutions in highly scalable environments using RUST as a programming language.
Real-Time multi-threaded Embedded software, preferably on Linux OS.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar degree.
Proven expertise in networking protocols, low-level performance optimization, and concurrency.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with Rust, particularly including contributions to deployed Rust-based projects
Experience with Git
- Experience with C language software
Experience developing cross platform software targeting systems such as Linux, Windows, Embedded devices, and Server-grade hardware
Knowledge of general software development best practices
Ability to help clarify user requirements and define accurate use cases
Excellent proficiency in Linux operating systems, shell scripting, multi-processing
- Experience in networking, communications, systems programming or other low level programming
