Legislative Social Media Intern (Volunteer)
Are you a college student who lives and breathes social media? Do you have a knack for spotting viral moments and turning them into meaningful content? Our legislative office is looking for a creative, fast-moving Social Media Intern to help us engage with constituents, amplify our message, and bring attention to the issues that matter most.
What You’ll Do:
- Attend community and legislative events to capture high-quality photos and videos
- Create compelling, timely content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and more
- Monitor trending topics and viral moments—and know how to connect them to the work we’re doing
- Collaborate with our team to brainstorm and execute digital campaigns
- Use tools like Canva and other apps to quickly design and publish engaging posts
- Play a key role in shaping our digital voice while getting a behind-the-scenes look at the legislative process
What we're looking for:
- A current college student with strong familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook
- Experience using Canva or similar platforms to create digital content
- An eye for storytelling through social media
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work on a deadline
- Willingness to attend events, work on-location when needed, and deliver fast turnarounds
- Bonus: Experience running a successful personal or organizational social media account
