Job Title: Marketing Intern, Portfolio Positioning
Project Overview:
Innovative Research is seeking a motivated intern to support strategic marketing initiatives through market research, competitor analysis, and customer outreach.
This role will focus on helping us better position our seven product portfolios across our website and marketing channels. We're looking for someone with a strong interest in marketing, data analytics, and science.
The primary goal of this project is to gather insights that will inform the development of more effective product search filters on our website—making it easier for customers to find what they need. Additionally, the intern will help identify relevant keywords and product applications to enhance our product positioning, particularly in comparison to competitors.
Key Responsibilities:
The intern will support the marketing team by researching and analyzing our seven product portfolios. This includes gathering product overviews, sales data, competitor information, customer insights, and current marketing efforts.
Key tasks include:
- Conducting market research and competitor analysis, including pricing and positioning
- Reviewing sales trends and identifying top customers for each portfolio
- Analyzing current website filters and suggesting improvements to enhance search functionality
- Refining portfolio keywords and aligning them with customer search behavior and SEO best practices
- Assisting with customer outreach and compiling feedback to inform marketing strategies
- Reviewing and updating product information in our ERP (NetSuite) as needed
The insights gathered will help drive strategic updates to our website, improve product positioning, and support marketing efforts that aim to increase customer engagement and sales performance in 2025.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Business, Data Analytics, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Strong interest in science and technology products
- Basic understanding of marketing principles and customer behavior
- Comfortable working with data—experience with Excel or Google Sheets is a plus
- Strong research and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
- Familiarity with websites, e-commerce, or SEO concepts is a bonus, but not required
