Member Development Corps Leader (Full-time AmeriCorps)
Campus Compact EnviroCorps (CCEC) is the first nationwide AmeriCorps program dedicated to strengthening campus-based, community-led environmental stewardship efforts. EnviroCorps works with colleges, universities, and their community partners to weatherize homes, organize nature conservation projects, and lead environmental education events in local communities. Combined, these activities help increase home energy efficiency, cost savings, and comfort; support access to clean air, land, and water; and increase knowledge and motivation to make a positive difference for the planet.
EnviroCorps is an AmeriCorps program managed by Campus Compact, a national coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to civic and community engagement. EnviroCorps places teams of 3-10 AmeriCorps members in full- and part-time service terms with our campus and community partners throughout the United States. A projected 100+ EnviroCorps members will serve nationwide to build capacity for higher education institutions and their community partners to advance energy efficiency, nature conservation, and environmental education through local solutions. Campus Compact functions as the central EnviroCorps program hub, performing program administration, offering training, and providing support to EnviroCorps members and their projects.
The Member Development Corps Leader will serve directly with Campus Compact and will be part of a team of three Corps Leaders and five staff members supporting the development of the 2025-2026 cohort of EnviroCorps members. The Member Development Corps Leader will assist in the creation and provision of member training, technical assistance, resources, and support to the national Campus Compact EnviroCorps cohort. Corps Leaders will provide near-peer support to an assigned portfolio of members, maintaining communication and facilitating periodic in-person meetings and site visits to ensure project progress. Corps Leaders will also contribute to the continued growth and improvement of the program by supporting training and community building, member recruitment, and other program objectives.
Essential Functions:
Portfolio Management:
- Provide near-peer support to an assigned portfolio of EnviroCorps members, which will include serving as members’ first line of support, monitoring members’ progress on project goals, and providing ongoing communication and guidance to members
- Coordinate and lead regularly scheduled check-in meetings with their assigned portfolio of EnviroCorps members
- Maintain an ongoing member communications log and elevate member and host site concerns to CCEC staff in team meetings and as needed
- Attend site visits alongside staff, focusing on member development, project goals, and progress
Member Development:
- Collaborate with CCEC staff to plan and develop member development and training opportunities that support EnviroCorps members in their project implementation and professional development
- Research and develop a bank of virtual training resources for professional and programmatic skills development and community building activities
- Collaborate with CCEC staff to coordinate a Life After AmeriCorps training series that will occur in spring, focused on supporting EnviroCorps members in their career action planning and post-service job search
- Develop and give a training on Project Sustainability Guide, supporting members in the development of their guides
- Lead end-of-year project showcase process, including developing process, timeline, member training, and dissemination of final products
Program Capacity Support:
- Lead training sessions where needed in weekly cohort meetings and act as a monitor or facilitator
- Support the continued growth of the EnviroCorps program by assisting in the host site application and onboarding process by acting as a reviewer for host site applications
- Participate in member application review and screening, and conducting applicant outreach and communication
- Monitor and respond to communication from the cohort, facilitate community building, and provide cohort with resources
Evaluation & Reporting Requirements:
- Complete and submit accurate and timely biweekly timesheets and monthly progress reports
- Collaborate with team of Corps Leaders to develop a Project Sustainability Guide
- Member performance will be assessed through a mid-term evaluation and end-of-term evaluation
Training Requirements:
- Attend a week-long virtual orientation at the beginning of the service term
- Attend weekly virtual All Corps Meetings
- Participate in Life After AmeriCorps training workshops and career action planning activities
- Participate in an AmeriCorps Day of Service

Non-Essential Functions:
The Member may be required to perform other position-related instructions within the scope of their normal service activities as requested by their site supervisor and/or AmeriCorps program staff in alignment with the grant and not unallowable or prohibited activities.
Service Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident
- Must pass a National Service Criminal History Check
- Bachelor’s degree is required
- Must be located in the Boston metropolitan area
- Valid driver’s license and car, and/or dependable transportation
- Personal commitment to environmental stewardship
- Motivated team leader with exceptional organizational skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience serving as an AmeriCorps member
- Experience training, coaching, or mentoring others
- Experience developing and delivering training curricula
AmeriCorps Disaster Requirements:
In the event of a local, state, or federal disaster declaration, AmeriCorps Members may be asked on a volunteer basis or be required by AmeriCorps to activate to assist in disaster response and recovery activities within their communities. This may involve virtual service opportunities or in-person service opportunities. This may include service opportunities outside of the Member’s standard service hours or in place of their standard service duties. In the event of a large-scale, high needs local, state, or federal disaster, AmeriCorps members may voluntarily or be required by AmeriCorps to deploy to an area outside of their service area to assist in disaster response and recovery activities.
Term of Service: The Full-Time AmeriCorps member must complete at least 1700-hours during the service term, which will run from August 25, 2025 through July 31, 2026. The Full-Time AmeriCorps member will be expected to complete an average of 40 hours per week for the duration of the service term.

Full-Time AmeriCorps members will receive:
- A $23,800 AmeriCorps living allowance, paid in biweekly installments
- A $7,395.50 Segal Education Award. This award is contingent upon the successful completion of the program, is good for 7 years, and can be used to pay for college or technical school or to pay back qualified public student loans.
