Job Summary
Under direction, oversees technical work related to activities in the design, development, and maintenance support for specialized equipment, software, or databases. May exercise supervision over assigned staff.

Work Schedule
7:45 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Job Functions
- Oversees end user support with complex specialized equipment and software.
- Coordinates the support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment, departmental databases, and technical programs.
- Assists in designing, creating, and implementing departmental databases.
- Identifies departmental technical needs and requirements.
- Travels to different locations to inspect, evaluate, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment and technical programs.
- Works with stakeholders to understand requirements and objectives in building project objectives and program plans.
- Assists in preparing written reports, summaries, and presentations on technical systems.
- Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in database management, system support, or a relevant technical field; to include one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience.
- Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with the Esri product suite, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder and Dashboards.
- Experience designing, creating, and maintaining spatial databases, departmental GIS datasets, and geospatial infrastructure layers.
- Strong cartography skills, including the ability to create high-quality physical map products, operational dashboards, web maps, and web applications for public safety, emergency management, or planning purposes.
- Ability to coordinate technical support, development, troubleshooting, and maintenance for GIS-based applications and operational dashboards.
- Ability to assist with emergency management planning activities, such as updating plans, supporting hazard mitigation efforts, conducting risk assessments, and supporting emergency exercises, as needed.
Applicant Information
- Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is defined as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
