Children's Coach/Part-Time Youth Instructor

WHAT IS KIDOKINETICS?

Kidokinetics is the ultimate athletic enrichment program that introduces young students to a wide range of sports in a hands-on, interactive, and non-competitive environment. Our dedicated and certified coaches bring over 20 sports and endless activities to childcare centers, afterschool programs, weekend enrichment classes, and sports camps, providing a solid experience for kids ages 1-12. With high-quality equipment and custom programming, we aim to create enthusiasm for being active, leaving young athletes eagerly anticipating the next class!

WHAT DOES A DAY IN LIFE LOOK LIKE?

The coach is responsible for executing and delivering athletic enrichment to ages 18 months to 6 years.  They get to choose their lesson plan, pick up the equipment and deliver exciting and fun activities in 30 or 45-minute increments, working in 1-3 hour blocks.  The coach will also engage with daycare and preschool owners to maintain relationships, ensuring that Kidokinetics is always outperforming!

Future opportunities included growing into a head coach position, managing equipment, business development, and many other business, strategic and operational activities!

REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience with children – Preferred
  • High School diploma
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass a level 2 background check
  • Reliable transportation is a must as we are a mobile program

 

WORK LOCATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Dexter, Ann Arbor, Saline, Canton, Plymouth, Brighton and expanding into other SE Michigan locations!

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Programs offered indoors and outdoors.
  • Requires long periods of standing and activity (running, jumping, sitting, standing, pushing, walking, kneeling, etc)
  • Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

WHY KIDOKINETICS?

✓ Children ages 3 and up will learn a new anatomy/physiology fact during each class in which we focus on muscles, heart, and lungs as they relate to exercise

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position opening for highly motivated part-time sports coaches interested in teaching introductory sports to children aged 1 to 12 years.

Do you love sports and fitness and enjoy working with children? If so, this job is the perfect fit for you. Opportunity for advancement and bonuses/commissions by bringing on more accounts. Flexible hours (part-time). Driving to and from sites is required. However, compensation will be provided along with all equipment needed to instruct the class. Paid training is provided before coaching on your own (excludes interns).

The coach is responsible for implementing the Kidokinetics curriculum, ensuring each child has a positive and successful Kidokinetics experience, and for the well-being of each student attending a Kidokinetics class. The coach assumes the role of coach, friend, guide, disciplinarian, and mentor. Our mission is to help children develop coordination, self-confidence, teamwork, and, perhaps most importantly, a lifelong love of physical fitness.

 

 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Arrives to each class prepared with the appropriate lesson plans, equipment, supplies and other materials to deliver the program
  • Conducts classes in an enthusiastic, nurturing and safe manner
  • Makes every effort to connect one-on-one with each child
  • Addresses concerns or special needs for children and caregivers
  • Is a good role model for young children physically, emotionally, and socially
  • Works as part of a team
  • Provides an environment of acceptance that supports and respects cultural differences
  • Sets clear, consistent limits, has realistic expectations, and uses positive methods of child guidance
  • Provides opportunities for each child to develop feelings of competence, self-esteem, and a positive attitude toward physical activity and learning
  • Participates in training to improve skills and professional competencies
