Position Summary: Provides complex technical support for an organization’s data and voice network infrastructure. The role involves installing, maintaining, and supporting network systems, while also serving as Tier 2 support for networking issues. The successful candidate will resolve escalated technical issues, manage network components, and collaborate with vendors and colleagues to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, related field or equivalent experience
Experience:
• Ten (10) years’ experience with data engineering, network systems and network domains
• Hands-on experience working with networking technologies (switches, routers, firewalls, wireless controllers)
• Experience detailing large projects associated with design, cost, technical requirements and future needs assessments
Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:
• Requires Information Technology industry certifications such as Microsoft MCSE, VMWare VCP, EMC EMCSA, NetApp NCDA and Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent work experience
• Requires strong knowledge of server planning and engineering, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Vmware virtualization architecture, and Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies
• Strong knowledge of data center HVAC, electrical power, and space management, enterprise backup/archive systems, and disaster recovery planning
• Requires working knowledge of firewalls, proxy servers, Internet monitoring, TCP/IP networking and services (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SMTP, SNMP), Virtual Private Network (VPN), and Ethernet network technologies
• Knowledge of Cisco routers switches, wireless controllers and other infrastructure related backbone equipment, including experience working independently with Windows 2016 and higher, Windows 10 and higher operating systems in an enterprise
environment is required
• Prefer knowledge of Microsoft 365, PowerSchool, and Tyler Munis
