Student Graphic Design Assistant
The Student Graphic Design Assistant will assist stakeholders (including faculty and staff inside and outside the Research Office) to create high-quality, effective graphics for inclusion in grant proposals, research publications and presentations, brochures, news releases, and for use on websites. The Student Graphic Design Assistant must have successful completion of DES 3330 with a grade of C or higher, or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education demonstrating. In this job, the candidate will:
- Use a variety of software to apply various design elements to communicate ideas through images and the layout of printed pages, posters and presentations
- Create visual concepts, by hand or using computer software to communicate ideas that inspire, inform and/or captivate end-users
- Work independently with individuals or teams across multiple disciplines to conceptualize, develop and execute design projects for a variety of media, including grant proposals, web sites, reports and publications
- Have some understanding of technical communication design
- Understand how to effectively balance deadlines with the need for creating high-quality products
- Be able to manage multiple projects of different types and scale concurrently, with a variety of stakeholders (including Research Office staff)
- Be familiar with OU brand concepts and design requirements (not all projects will require this knowledge, though some will)
