Audio Editing Intern (Comedy Platform)

Title: Audio Editing Intern Fall 2025 (Unpaid, Remote)

Commitment: 10 hours/week for 16 weeks

 

About Us: 

SlapStik Comedy is a growing multimedia network providing comedy-driven content across radio, TV, and digital magazine platforms. We're building the business side of funny- showcasing rising comedic talent while providing fresh, humorous content to our audience of over 32,000 followers across platforms. Our internships offer hands-on, real-world experience in a collaborative environment that blends curiosity, creativity, and comedy.

 

Position Overview:

We're seeking creative, detail-oriented interns to join out Audio/Video Editing Team as Audio Editors. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a collaborative environment working on content that actually gets published. If you're an aspiring audio professional with an appreciation for storytelling and comedy, this is the role for you! This position offers college credit.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Clean up studio-recorded, field-recorded, and phone-recorded audio for various media projects to ensure a professional sound online.
  • Collaborate with fellow creatives and editors when needed.
  • Incorporate feedback on edits to meet project goals.
  • Design intro/outro material for new projects to pitch to professional comedians.
  • Attend weekly team meetings with a webcam on.
  • Communicate effectively with your supervisor and team via email and Microsoft Teams

 

What We're Looking For:

  • Available at least 10 hours a week
  • Reliable attendance at meetings every Sunday from 12pm to 2pm EST
  • Fairly skilled in at least one digital audio editing software (Audacity, ProTools, Audition, Fairlight, etc.)
  • Work independently to meet deadlines
  • Flexible team player ready to tackle any challenge
  • Strong ability to follow directions and open to feedback
  • Passionate about audio editing and design with a goal to build a career in the field
  • Enjoys laughter and a fun, creative environment
  • Willing to ask questions (yes, even dumb ones) when unsure
