Emerging Professional - Accounting Assistant

Position Overview:

The Accounting Assistant supports the Accounting Department in managing financial records, processing donations, and ensuring accurate bookkeeping. This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in accounting while contributing to the financial integrity of Stone Global Realty.

Compensation: Unpaid

Schedule:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 11:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Monthly Commitment: Every 4th Saturday, 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Hours: 20 hours

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks.

Document in-kind donations and ensure proper acknowledgment.

Process, record, and manage donation receipts, including coordinating with platforms such as PayPal, Venmo, and banking systems.

Ensure all financial records are organized and up-to-date for quarterly tax reporting and compliance.

Reconcile accounts, including donations and expenditures, across various payment platforms.

Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports.

Provide detailed financial information and updates for Stone Global Realty’s monthly minute meetings.

Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and tracking fund allocations.

Provide support for audits by preparing accurate financial documentation.

Collaborate with other departments to track and document donations and expenses.

Learn and execute the onboarding process for the next Federal Work-Study Accounting Assistant, acting as a transition mentor for the incoming student after three months on the job.

Work additional hours during fall break, in accordance with UTD rules and regulations, to support the organization as needed.

Attend every 4th Saturday of each month for the Serving Hope event (6AM-1PM, Community Service).

Term of Employment:

This is a four-month position. Continuation beyond the initial term may be offered based on performance.

Qualifications:

Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.

Proficiency in QuickBooks or a strong willingness to learn.

Familiarity with payment platforms such as PayPal and Venmo is a plus.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Comfortable with on-camera presence, including participation in live streams, photos, and video content for social media and promotional use.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous coursework or practical experience in accounting or financial management.

Familiarity with documenting in-kind donations and tax-related requirements.
