Helpdesk Technician for Student Affairs and Diversity IT
This is a Fall 2025 internship with flexible training, the potential to start in the summer, and the possibility to continue employment beyond the Fall semester.
The Helpdesk Technician for Student Affairs & Diversity IT is part of a team of student employees responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software throughout 20+ departments within the division of Student Affairs & Diversity.
Some duties and responsibilities include:
· Determine users technical needs and provide them with appropriate solutions.
· Install hardware, software and device drivers on standalone computers.
· Test computer peripherals, hardware and software to ensure that they are working appropriately.
· Upgrade software, patches and operating systems on a continuous basis.
· Troubleshoot hardware and software problems.
· Act as a technical resource to assist users with resolving computer issues.
· Answer tickets, emails and in person computer problems.
· Troubleshoot basic network connectivity problems.
· Maintain documentation of technical maintenance procedures and general help documents.
Minimum Qualifications:
· IT/CS/MIS major preferred. Other majors will be considered with minimum qualifications and/or experience met.
· Must be able to learn and support new and quickly-changing technologies.
· Ability to research solutions or information regarding technical issues.
· Ability to work independently and effectively without direct supervision.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills.
· Detail oriented.
· Ability to communicate information technology concepts effectively with others.
Desired Qualifications:
· Microsoft Windows and Mac OS troubleshooting experience.
· Microsoft Office experience.
· Hardware troubleshooting experience.
· Google Workspace experience.
· Hardware troubleshooting experience.
We may consider continuing employment beyond the Fall semester contingent upon student interest and performance evaluations.
