Juvenile Development Specialist

Juvenile Development Specialists supervise, direct, and provide for the security, safety,
treatment tasking, and welfare of the residents as required by the State of Michigan laws, Child Welfare Licensing requirements, and applicable standards as found in the SJJS Program and Procedures Manuals and Spectrum's Policies and Procedures.


Juvenile Development Specialists are directly responsible for the daily supervision, safety, security, welfare, and progress of the residents in care. This is a group-work-oriented position.


The employee in this position must be able to deal with delinquent youth who have security and safety risks. This position must be able to work with teachers, program caseworkers, volunteers, parents, state and court officials, referring caseworkers, and community and business representatives as part of the overall program.

This is a MANDATORY overtime position with opportunity to promote within and receive a bump in pay after 6 months of employment.
