Bendix is looking for a motivated co-op to join our Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (AME) team. This role is ideal for students studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Industrial Systems Engineering or related fields who are interested in digitalization and smart manufacturing. As part of the team, you will support ongoing projects that turn data into actionable insights, develop digital tools that streamline operations, and evaluate new technologies that can shape the future of our manufacturing processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop digital tools and applications to streamline workflows and improve visibility for engineering and operations teams.
  • Work with different teams to understand production processes, identify inefficiencies, and suggest digital solutions.
  • Develop Ignition Perspective & Power BI dashboards and visualizations to help leadership make data-driven decisions.
  • Design scheduling tools that connect SQL databases with interactive user interfaces to help teams plan and manage equipment usage.
  • Research emerging technologies—like AI, robotics, and smart automation—and evaluate how they could support long-term goals.
  • Collaborate with vendors and external partners to assess how new tools and systems could be integrated into existing infrastructure.
  • Contribute to shaping the co-op program by documenting projects, sharing best practices, and helping establish a foundation for future co-ops and engineers.
  • Manage a dynamic, fluid workload, seamlessly shifting between tasks and projects according to team priorities, while actively contributing to multiple initiatives.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis and application development.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as Ignition Perspective and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs and system integrations.
  • Solid understanding of user interface and user experience (UI/UX) principles.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable in a project-based environment, demonstrating strong time management and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

 

General Information:  

 

  • Location: Avon, Ohio (20 miles west of Cleveland).
  • Hours: 40 hours per week, on-site.
  • Pay Range: $19–$26/hour (contingent upon credit hours).
