Mechanical Engineering Intern (9465)

Qorvo’s Mechanical Engineering Internships are offered in our High Performance Analog business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment.

Responsibilities may include: 

• Contribute to the success of the Qorvo solid-state RF power amplifiers (SSPA) design team, including:
  • Component and system design and development
  • FEA analysis
  • Manufacturability analysis
  • Cost analysis
• Perform FEA analysis which may include:
  • Strength of materials under static, shock and vibration loading
  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Convective and conductive heat transfer
  • All of the above with respect to electronics product design

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Self-Starter with strong written and verbal communication skills and organization skills and attention to detail
• 3D MCAD experience preferred (preference with Solidworks)
• Previous experience with electro-mechanical design: harnesses and cables design, machined and sheet metal components, mechanical design aspects of electronics and RF circuits preferred
• Previous experience with FEA strength and/or CFD tools (Ansys, Flotherm, Fluent, Icepak) is a plus

Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr - $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location). Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.
