Location: Hybrid (Remote + In-Person)
Timeline: One semester (3-4 months), flexible
Eisenhower Dance Detroit is seeking a Costuming & Wardrobe Intern to support the creation and operations of performance looks within the professional company and school of EDD. The Costuming & Wardrobe intern has an eye for fashion, is detail oriented, enjoys creating costume pieces, assembling full looks for stage.
The Costuming & Wardrobe Intern sourcing, assembling, and organizing costume elements to align with the artistic vision of each production.
Responsibilities
Styling & Design Coordination
- Assist with creating costume lookbooks and mood boards based on artistic direction
- Research and source costume pieces online or in-store (ordering, returns, budget tracking)
- Coordinate full costume looks including base garments, layers, accessories, and footwear
- Help prep visual materials for directors/choreographers to review options
Wardrobe & Backstage Support
- Organize and maintain inventory of existing costumes and accessories
- Assist with fittings
- Label, sort, costumes for distribution
- Help manage costume cleaning and storage post-performance
- On site alterations
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Interest in costume styling, fashion, visual design, or production
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence in putting together cohesive and creative looks
- Familiarity with online shopping platforms and sourcing
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative settings
