Development & Outreach Intern

Admin Internship: Development & Outreach Intern

Reports To: Executive Director and/or Director of Community Engagement

Type: Unpaid Internship | Academic Credit Available | Flexible Schedule

Location: Hybrid (Remote + In-Person)

Timeline: One semester (3-4 months), flexible

Eisenhower Dance Detroit is seeking a Development & Outreach Intern to support community engagement, donor relations, and fundraising initiatives. The Development & Outreach Intern is people oriented, creative, and passionate about building connections to support the arts.

The Development & Outreach Intern will assist in researching funding opportunities, managing donor communications, and contributing to campaigns and events that expand EDD’s reach and impact.

Responsibilities

Fundraising & Donor Engagement

  • Research and track potential sponsors, community partners, and grant opportunities
  • Assist with donor thank you letters, sponsor packages, and donation tracking
  • Help plan and execute fundraising events and outreach campaigns

     

Community Outreach & Impact

  • Coordinate small giveaways or raffles for events and intensives
  • Collect testimonials, surveys, and audience feedback post-event
  • Support EDD’s mission through community partnerships and relationship building

     

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Interest in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or arts outreach
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, with attention to detail and follow through
  • Comfortable working with databases, online forms, and event planning tools
