Reading Tutor - 2026-2027 School Year
Help provide a brighter future for kids in your community by joining Michigan Education Corps for the 2026-2027 school year!
As an interventionist, you’ll help students in kindergarten through third grade to become better readers using evidence-based, scripted interventions. With great training and onsite coaching, we’ll prepare you to work one-on-one or in small groups to help kids develop their reading skills and confidence! We are looking for people who have a desire to help kids succeed. Join the team that empowers Michigan kids to reach their highest level of academic achievement in reading and math.
Schedule: Monday – Friday, during the school day. Position starts late August 2026 and end late May 2027 (part time positions also available).
Compensation/Benefits:
- stipend
- education award that can be used to repay federal student loans or future education expenses;
- federal student loan forbearance.

Minimum required qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older by your start date.
- Must have at least a high school diploma or recognized equivalent by your start date.
- Must be either a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
- Must pass mandatory pre-service background checks.
- Must not have served 4 or more prior terms of service with AmeriCorps State or National.
