Automation Intern

What you’ll do: As an Automation Intern, you’ll work in a Manufacturing Engineering environment and gain experience in robotics, programming, and industrial automation.

 

 

Duties / Responsibilities of this position: 

  • Work in a manufacturing environment, developing new automation and improving current systems
  • Assembling, plumbing, wiring robotic End-Of-Arm tools
  • Modifying existing robotic programs
  • Improving injection molding cycle times
  • Reporting results regularly to the group
  • Providing floor call support and addressing GEMBA items
  • Improving OEE & reduce scrap

 

Job Requirements:

Education/Experience/Training: 

  • Currently enrolled in a Mechatronics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering program.
  • Some prior programming and design experience is generally desirable. 
  • Versed in CAD software.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work hands-on with equipment.
  • Able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently.

Physical Demands Analysis: 

  • Continuous standing on manufacturing floor
  • Moderate lifting is required
  • Build, repair, and maintain robotic tooling
  • Continuous computer work
  • Adept at following safety standards in manufacturing
  • Rare climbing stairs, bending, and stooping
  • Personal Protective Equipment Requirements (PPE): safety shoes, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, hearing protection, and other PPE.
