What you’ll do: As an R&D Intern, you’ll work in a volume Manufacturing and Research Laboratory environment and gain experience in a diverse product line.
Duties / Responsibilities of this position:
- Work in research & development lab to assist formulation development related to chemistry, chemical engineering, and material science.
- Support ongoing research with literature searches, collecting and analyzing data and preparing reports and presentations.
- Weighing up chemicals per laboratory safety guidelines and producing formulations for testing
- Prepare samples for various testing scenarios
- Document work including procedures, observations and conclusions
- Maintain laboratory equipment and organization.
- Lead safe practice in the laboratory.
Job Requirements:
Education/Experience/Training:
- Currently enrolled in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or similar program
- Prior laboratory experience is generally desirable.
- Versed in scientific methods, laboratory apparatus, and communication skills.
- Maintenance of laboratory or processing equipment.
- Able to develop specific laboratory methods of analysis in select techniques.
- Highly organized.
- Able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently.

Physical Demands Analysis:
- Continuous standing at laboratory or processing equipment
- Light to moderate lifting may be required
- Fixture, repair, and maintain processing equipment, as required
- Continuous computer work, keyboarding, computer mouse, and computer monitor
- Very adept at maintaining and improving safety requirements in the laboratory and work space.
- Rare climbing stairs, bending, and stooping
- Personal Protective Equipment Requirements (PPE): safety shoes, safety glasses, cut-resistant gloves, hearing protection, and other PPE.
