Engineering Internship – Eversource Energy

Assignment Areas and Preferred Majors: 

                        

Substation Design Engineering: Focuses on improving the safe and reliable design and operation of the electrical transmission and distribution system.  B.S. Electrical Engineering 

Protection & Control Engineering: Designs and operate the devices and systems used to detect abnormal system conditions, such as electrical faults, and take automatic or supervisory control actions to isolate, mitigate, and restore the Transmission and Distribution system. B.S. Electrical Engineering 

Telecommunications Engineering: Leads efforts to develop network solutions for essential voice and data services supporting Electric and Gas Transmission and Distribution Systems, including IT systems. B.S. Electrical Engineering 

Substation Technical Engineering: Team plays a critical role in acceptance testing and commissioning of new substation equipment and upgrades as well as trouble shooting of installed equipment. B.S. Electrical Engineering 

Transmission Line Engineering: Designs and supports the construction, maintenance, and operation of overhead and underground transmission lines. BS in Civil Engineering 

Capital Projects Engineering: Coordinates engineering efforts and serves as the interface between engineering and project teams for large-scale or strategic projects with significant financial impact. BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering 

System Planning: Designs the distribution system to meet demand growth in the most economical, reliable, and safe manner.    BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering 

Distribution Engineering: Provides engineering, design, and equipment expertise for distribution line and substation facilities. BS in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or similar

Grid Modernization: Supports innovative efforts to improve grid reliability and resilience, and to integrate renewable energy resources into daily operations.   B.S. Electrical Engineering
