Supply Chain Purchasing Intern

Inteva Supply Chain Purchasing Interns get the chance to learn about Supply Chain Management's (SCM) role in supporting a manufacturing company, gain hands-on experience, and work on meaningful projects that make an impact. The intern in this role will work with the SCM team out of Inteva's World Headquarters in Troy, MI.

Inteva’s Summer 2026 Intern Program includes more than your day-to-day work. Your experience will include supplemental learning and development opportunities, such as executive lunch-and-learns and professional workshops. You will support Inteva’s core value of caring for the world and our communities with group volunteering opportunities throughout the summer. Most importantly, you will have fun, learn, and grow as part of a cohort of summer interns. This is a full-time internship position during the summer (May 2026-August 2026).

Job Description:

  • Work to acquire Procurement skills and experience by supporting Commodity Purchasing Teams
  • Support Buyers in resolution of operational issues, including: 
    • Supplier setups 
    • Quote process 
    • Issuing and updating Purchase Orders (POs)  
    • Creating Sourcing documents including Business Award Summaries (BAS)
    • Change Management (ECR/ECN)
    • Supplier Problem Cases (PCs) and Cost Recoveries (CRs) 
    • Delivery and quality concerns
    • Material Cost Performance System (MCPS) data management 
    • Plex (MRP system) Master Data Management 
    • Supplier payments, etc. 
  • Perform administrative tasks and create management reports / presentations as requested

 

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
  • High level of analytical ability and problem solving skills 
  • Comfortable working with and organizing numbers and data 
  • Understand the importance of working in a team environment, and ability to build relationships
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting in large groups 
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
